James Patrick Hynes

James Patrick Hynes, (Jim) has taught in schools in Britain and Canada and lectured in English and Education in England. Following early retirement he continued with voluntary work leading the social justice committee of the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Social Welfare Advisory Committee of England and Wales at international, national & regional levels with organisa¬tions & groups on a range of poverty issues including asylum seekers, prisoners, unemployment, homelessness.

In recent years, after having retired from full time voluntary work, he has written several books on Irish history and others on social justice issues. Work in progress includes an attempted novel centred on the great Irish ‘Battle of Clontarf’.
