I like to play with names, especially my own, maybe because Pamela Nelson, while solid and straightforward, also lacks cadence… to my ears, at least. But please read into my penchant for name play whatever you will. My pen names are not meant to be a secret.
Under the pseudonym, P.G. Redstone (my pen name as a screenwriter), I authored my first novel entitled, WHEN THE MOON COMES OVER THE MOUNTAIN (now FEDERATION).
Using my legal name (the afore-mentioned rock-solid Pamela Nelson), I co-authored a film memoir entitled, AND DON’T CALL US LADIES!
Most recently, I adopted the pen name Pam Davnel (pronounced DAVnel) for my recent childhood memoir, WASHING THE FLOOR WITH CHRISTIAN DIOR.
I’ve also co-produced a campy, sci-fi rom-com feature film called WALK-INS WELCOME that some viewers “get”, laugh at, and enjoy, while viewers on the other side of the sofa just shake their heads in bewilderment. If you like it, great! If you don’t – well, just try to be nice about it. It did win Best Feature and the Audience Award at a local film festival, and I happen to be very fond of it.
I’ve written over twenty screenplays, won numerous awards, including a tarnished silver star to hang next to my light switch and enough money to pay a utility bill or two. Lots of producers have been interested in my work and I’ve had several agents, but nothing much has ever come from all that, except for some poignant memories, great life lessons, and a major feature film that went seriously awry, all of which is chronicled in the book, AND DON’T CALL US LADIES!
