Christi N. Warner is a British–Namibian poet, author, and cultural educator based in Oxford, UK. Her creative practice began in Windhoek through Theatre for Development, where she used participatory theatre and poetry as tools for community dialogue, social justice, and collective empowerment.
Her debut collection, Ice-Cream and Politics (2016), introduced a voice of formal clarity and fierce social conscience. Her new book, Citizen Within, deepens this trajectory into a powerful meditation on migration, lineage, motherhood, and the daily labour of belonging. Moving between the mythic and the domestic, Warner’s poems honour the unseen acts that hold communities together — the gestures, negotiations, and quiet resilience that shape a life across places, languages, and histories.
Alongside her writing, Warner has worked as an editor, cultural facilitator, and advocate for arts-based community engagement. Her work is rooted in the belief that language has a civic function: to steady a room, open difficult conversations, and return us to our shared humanity.
She lives in Oxford with her family.
