Forrest Jackson

Forrest Jackson is an independent scholar who typically writes about cults and the occult. Simultaneously skeptical of and sympathetic toward his subjects, he writes from a fresh perspective that is unfettered by the constraints of formal academia. His publications include Cosmic Suicide: the Tragedy and Transcendence of Heaven's Gate (available on Kindle); Three Myths of Gods, Devils, and Beasts; Satanic Panic: Pop-Cultural Paranoia in the 1980s; The Encyclopedic Sourcebook of UFO Religions; and Religions of the World: a Comprehensive Encyclopedia of Beliefs and Practices. He lives in Dallas, Texas where he is a bookbinder and antiquarian bookseller.
