Calibe Thompson

Calibe Thompson is a Jamaican-American entrepreneur. Her titles include TV producer, director and personality, editor, author, columnist and public speaker. In 2015 she became the first Jamaican producer to secure series placement on US national public television. "Taste the Islands", the series she developed, was the first Caribbean cooking series that the network giants PBS and Create TV had aired nationally.

Through her company Blondie Ras Productions, she manages the production of that series, as well as “Island Origins” - a television lifestyle magazine featuring Caribbean community notables, which she also hosts. Her programs have aired in over 40 American states, over 20 Caribbean countries, Canada, the United Kingdom and Brunei.

She has gained recognition for her eloquence and the bold perspectives she shares in opinion columns and on television.

Her diverse career has spanned over two decades in the entertainment industry and has seen her move from touring the world as a vocalist with stars such as Beenie Man, Kevin Lyttle and Kymani Marley, to lending her smooth Jamaican accent to commercials and TV shows.

Thompson’s ongoing mission is to create high quality Caribbean-inspired media for a sophisticated, mainstream audience.
