Tracie Frank Mayer is the author of the 8-time award-winning inspiring narrative Incompatible with Nature-Against the Odds: A Parent's Memoir of Congenital Heart Disease. The German version is entitled: Einen Herzschlag entfernt.
Residing in Cologne, Germany since 1984, Tracie has worked as a rebel, writer, and public speaker.
She supports and works with various charitable organizations, including the Parents Initiative for Children with Heart Disease of Cologne, the Ronald McDonald House in Cologne, Doctors for Ethiopia, and the VITA Assistant Dogs Organization.
A much sought after bi-lingual public speaker, Tracie has a powerful voice in the CHD communities in the United States and Germany. She has shared her inspiring story on various CHD platforms including the World Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery Congress in Dubai, the Go Red for Women Luncheon in Rockford, Illinois, and the University of Illinois Medical School in Rockford. She also has served as Chair for the ACHA Walk for 1 in 100 in Seattle, Washington and is also firmly rooted in the various social networks of CHD parents and survivors.
Her story has been featured in numerous newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, and podcast interviews.
The English version of her book is to be found in the prestigious libraries of Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania.
