Nicole Castle

Nicole Castle preferred to play by herself as a child, and out of her alone time, sprang a rich, vibrant imagination. As a writer of dark poetry and short fiction, Nicole is drawn to what lurks in the shadows. Her poetry has been published in the following: Wayne Literary Review; Gem Studded Tongues and Burning Dogs of Love; Pink Panther Magazine; Wayzgoose; and Artifex. Her short fiction has been published in Erie Tales and Recurring Nightmares. She won third place for Short Fiction at the 2007 World Horror Convention and second place for Best Flash Fiction at Killer Con in 2012. Currently, she teaches writing and literature at Macomb Community College in southeastern Michigan; hosts a literary reading series on South Campus called WORDcraft Wednesdays; and edits the college's literary magazine. She is also the proud editor of GLAHW's short story, poetry, and art horror magazine: Ghostlight: The Magazine of Terror. She is a current member of the board for the Great Lakes Association of Horror Writers, and loves every minute of it.
