BIO OF BOBBY LLOYD

Bobby Lloyd met Christ while living a life of crime, violence, pornography and drug addiction. Bobby was one of the main suppliers of heroin to Long Island and parts of New York City in the 1970’s and 80’s. Prison was no stranger to Lloyd, being incarcerated several times since he was 16 years old. In 1976 Bobby was sentenced to life in prison under Governor Rockefeller’s drug law.

After being miraculously released on lifetime parole, Lloyd quickly re-established his drug business. In a few years this occupation again came to an abrupt halt; this time it was to answer the call of Christ in his life. Bobby surrendered to the Lord and in 1984 entered Brooklyn Teen Challenge, a discipleship program for those with life controlling problems. He completed the program in 1985.

Bobby has since attended Christ For The Nations Bible Institute in Stony Brook, New York, and then enrolled in the Berean School of the Bible based in Springfield, Missouri. His credentials are held by World Challenge Ministries in New York, and Elim Fellowship. Bobby then helped pioneer Long Island Teen Challenge, and served as associate pastor of Freedom Chapel Assembly of God in Amityville, New York.

He went on to get his Bachelors Degree in Political Science, and then a Masters Degree in order to further the work he has been establishing.

In 1991, due to the change in his life, Governor Cuomo pardoned Bobby’s lifetime parole.

The Lord miraculously restored Bobby’s marriage to Dianne, who was instrumental in leading him to the Lord while he was in prison. She shared with him her conversion to Christ, and deliverance from heroin addiction. Between them, they have eight children, eight grand children and a seven great grand children.

This change in Bobby’s life not only affected him, but has also impacted the lives of his five daughters.

In January of 1994 Bobby accepted the position of Executive Director for Long Island Citizens For Community Values, an organization working to protect women, children and families due to the harmful effects of pornography. In the past 22 years this para-church organization has gained state and national recognition. It has been instrumental in passing legislation, rezoning town ordinances and developing an extensive victim assistance program as well as helping literally hundreds of men, women, and children find freedom in Christ from this devastating pandemic of pornography in our nation.
