Pierre Whalon

Pierre Whalon is a Bishop of the Episcopal Church, a part of the Anglican Communion based in the USA. From 2001 to 2019, he served as the Bishop in charge of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe. "Made in Heaven?" is his first full-length publication. In February 2018 he published "Laïcité : l'expression publique de la religion" with Jean-Michel Cadiot, and is presently working on two other books. Besides writing for the Huffington Post in American and French editions, he has published a number of articles in theological journals, and many book reviews, including on Amazon. Whalon is also a columnist for Anglicans Online.

Born in Newport, Rhode Island, raised in a French family, he is a citizen of the USA and France, and writes in both languages. He is also an accompanied organist and composer, as well as an early physics major, and speaks several other languages besides English and French.

He is married to the former Hélène Teneur and has one daughter with his late wife Melinda. Memories of Newport Harbor are probably responsible for his collecting miniature lighthouses.
