Born in the beautiful island country of Fogo, Cabo Verde in 1987, Tonio’s romantic view of the world began to take shape. The oldest of six children, Tonio came to the United States in the summer of 1996 to continue his education. He majored in corporate communications in college. All the while, the passion of a hopeful romantic burned inside of him. He found that poetry was a natural outlet for his emotions, and began to write whenever inspiration struck him.
