Walter C. Parker

Walter Parker is Professor Emeritus of Social Studies Education at the University of Washington. He conducts research-and-development studies in schools, working closely with teachers as collaborators, implementing and testing new and old approaches to social studies instruction. Walter was born and raised in Englewood, Colorado on Denver’s south side. He lives in Seattle with his wife Sheila Valencia. His new book is "Education for Liberal Democracy: Using Classroom Discussion to Build Knowledge and Voice."
