BIOGRAFIA DO AUTOR
I have followed the path of Carlos Fortes Lopes since 2011, when, in a more systematic way, began publishing articles of opinion in a Cape Verdean online newspaper. But only came to know him, personally, in mid- 2014 in Tarrafal of the Island of São Nicolau , where I presented , at his request, " Cape Verde - The Paths of regionalization ," a book that he was co-author .
A few days later, we had lunch at my house and we had three or four hours of loose talk on the porch bordering the sea of Tedja Beach. We became friends.
I believe, in the world, there's essentially three kinds of people: those who, deliberately or unconsciously, live bugging the life of the others and the collective progress of nations; those who live an existence on all fours; and those others who seek in its course something worth being lived and rebel permanently against the “natural order of things." Surely, Carlos Fortes Lopes belongs to the latter elite of unruly.
Without literary pretensions , without assuming as " writer " - as others often do just that for the first time , arrange some letters and calling it a " book " - Carlos has a clear perception that writing is a powerful melee weapon for ideals and utopias .
