Dr. Edward A. Moses MD

Edward A. Moses is a retired physician who was born in Trinidad, West Indies in 1933, of Syrian Parents. He is at present residing in Florida, USA with his wife of more than fifty years. They have four children.

He received his medical training at the University of Sheffield, England, and returned to practice in Trinidad. In 1967 he returned to England to pursue post-graduate training in Psychiatry and upon completion he returned to Trinidad where he was appointed consultant in charge of the Psychiatric unit at the General Hospital. He also continued a successful private practice in family medicine and psychiatry.

In addition to his extensive medical duties, he was very involved in a variety of medical, governmental, social and philanthropic activities in Trinidad and Tobago. These involved such diverse fields as school and prison reform, drug abuse, mental health, Red Cross activities and public education. In 1976 he was awarded the Medal of Merit (Gold) by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago for Public Services.

He travelled extensively to countries in North and South America and to Europe, mainly on official business.

In 1980, as a result unexpected circumstances, including the very serious illness of his son, he moved to Florida where he initially joined the Department of Family Practice and then subsequently went out into private practice in Coral Springs, Florida. He spent the next 30 years in this practice until he retired in 2010.

He has continued to be actively involved in social affairs in Trinidad and locally. He spends a lot of time pursuing his dual interests of collecting quotations and writing essays on all aspects of life and living.
