James C. Hunt

Jim Hunt is a Speaker, Consultant, Author and Thought Leader who speaks to thousands of local government officials each year on issues of excellence in local government. His new book, The Entrepreneurial City-Building Smarter Governments Through Entrepreneurial Thinking is designed to introduce a new way of looking at local government. The book is a follow-up to Jim's successful book, The Amazing City-7 Steps to Creating an Amazing City, which is currently being used by cities across the Northern Hemisphere to assist city officials, staff, citizens and others interested in building a safe and sustainable city. He spent over a quarter century as a local elected official and has held state, national and international leadership positions. He served as President of the National League of Cities in 2006 and was named the 2006 “Municipal Leader of the Year” by American City & County Magazine. He is a graduate of West Virginia University and completed a Fellowship on Rural Affairs with the European Union in Brussels, Belgium. He and his wife, Pam have two children, Sarah and Jason and four granddaughters, Ali, Avery, Emery and Sadie.
