KATIE BLACKBURN is the pen name for Leah Thaxton, who is Children's Publisher at Faber & Faber. Leah is the author of a number of children's books, including the World Book Day book 'The Big Bang', with actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and illustrator Paddy Donnelly; 'Dozy Bear and the Secret of Sleep' with Richard Smythe, which has been translated into eight languages; 'Scoot' with Jim Smith, and the gift books 'Where the Wild Mums Are'; 'Where the Wild Dads Went' and ''Twas the Nightcap Before Christmas', all illustrated by Sholto Walker. 'Where the Wild Mums Are' was written as a humorous homage to Maurice Sendak's original story and as a tribute to tired mums everywhere. It has now sold over 250,000 copies in the UK and US.
