Mrs Emanuela Cooper

Emanuela Cooper (maiden name: Taboga) was born in Treviso, Italy on 18th November 1953. She studied foreign languages in Venice and Political Sciences at the University of Padua. Following an existential crisis in her life, she made her first visit to India in 1978, where she met her soul mate, Richard. Within a few months they were husband and wife.

Over the following five years they travelled extensively throughout India, Sri Lanka and Nepal and spent longer periods of time in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh and near the beaches of Goa.

In 1983 they moved back to England, settling in Nottingham where Emanuela worked as a teacher of Italian, translator and interpreter until 2011.

She lives in Ibiza, a great place to write novels - especially in the quiet Winter months - and some in London, visiting her daughter and granddaughter.

Since 1991 Emanuela is practicing Buddhism with the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), a lay Buddhist movement for the realization of peace through culture and education.

Inspired by the chanting, in 1992 she started to write. So far Emanuela has written three novels, which have been beautifully received.

Made in Nirvana was published in 2015 in Italian and English.

In December 2019 Three Women Lost in London was published, followed in April 2020 by the Italian version: Smarrita a Londra

Late in 2024 her third novel was published in English: Under the Ibiza sky; in Spanish: Bajo el cielo de Ibiza and in Italian: Sotto il cielo di Ibiza. This novel is receiving many enthusiastic compliments.
