I am an Acupuncturist by day, in love with all things mysterious and magical, and an imagineering writer at "night" aka...any free moment...

My first publication is a children's book called Little Bunny Bed. In it, a little child wonders what a baby bunny might do all day.

I had the amazing good fortune to meet illustrator Venessa Kelly, of Red Admiral Creative Studios, who collaborated with me to create the gorgeous earthy/fantasy illustrations for this little book. Every page is magical! Her art work is just stunning. Additional thanks go to Vickie Beck, my friend and multi-talented musician/child therapist who helped create the lovely tune for Bunny Bed, which can be either read or sung as a lullaby. The tune resides on youtube. Just type in Little Bunny Bed by Karen Johnson. It's easy to learn and teach to your little one.

My second book is about an unimpressed princess titled, I Don't Want To Be A Princess! After the book was written, I couldn't settle on a title so I gave the story to another friend who works as a media specialist at a local elementary school. She invited her students to read the story and suggest a good title. We got about 50 wonderful ideas. This title "won" in that it was independently recommended by the greatest number of children. I love getting feedback from parents and young readers who identify with the plight of the poor princess, who, finding herself in a role for which she is not suited, endeavors to find her real self, and a way out of the palace. The wonderfully humorous illustrations flowed from the delightfully inventive mind of illustrator Sarah Causey in collaboration with Venessa Kelly, who doubled as our mastermind of production.

My small anthology of poems and songs entitled Roses and Raindrops is available on Kindle.

Enjoy!! Karen
