Paula H. Mathis was born and raised in Washington, DC. After high school she attended college where her talents in communication would surface but after three years and never declaring a major, she closed that door. Paula would later open the door to family and as wife and mother of four, she would settle in to raise her children alongside her husband but never losing the thirst to express herself in writing. Paula would continue to be consumed with written expression and would use every opportunity to ‘tell someone off’ on paper! Her family continues to quip about her arsenal, ‘paper and pen’ and how they all had been fired upon at some point or another. Her husband receiving the bullet more than others but always believing she had a special gift. Through a lifetime of expressing herself with paper and pen, Paula would come to understand that what once felt like "writing wrong" was God leading her to "write right." The tools and the anointing God would give her to serve as a true voice from Heaven, relaying messages that were given to her, to share with others.
Paula continued to write albeit journaling and in 2010, the year she says “All Hell Broke Loose”, God would show her why writing and other expressions of communication came easy and a few years following, she would pen her first book, "Lost in the Storm, Found in the Rainbow", a book of poetry and prose.
Paula is often referred to as God's Poet-the medium she uses to evangelize the mission of Jesus Christ. In the poetry she has been blessed to write, she embraces her earthly assignment with fervor as she helps others hear from God in simpler terms.
Through plain talk and simple, rhythmic expression, along with life's experiences, Paula has authored another book, "Life's Impressions, A Poetic Journey with Plain Talk Along the Way." This second book's blend of poetry and straightforward life commentary offers readers and accessible and emotionally engaging experience. She uses language that is reflective, relatable, and spiritually grounded, creating pieces that resonate with readers navigating real world struggles and searching for encouragement. Through vivid emotional imagery and transparent storytelling, the collection reminds readers that they are not alone in their experiences and that healing often begins through honesty and reflection.
Paula went back to school receiving her BA in Biblical Studies and her MA in Christian Counseling, graduating with honors from both programs. In 2025 Paula became a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Triumphant Christian Fellowship International located in Pemberton, New Jersey, a Christian organization committed to the ministry of Jesus Christ and led by Archbishop Maurice Talley, Ed. D. As a member of the Divine Ecclesiastical Leadership Team (DELTA), Minister Paula was elevated recently to Overseer of the Global Media Ministry of the TCFI.
Paula's spreads God Word as directed by Him! She is a humble servant of the Lord and others. She is approachable and available always to serve. You can also hear give a relevant message daily on her show "Messages from Heaven" at 3:00 pm EST on The Gospel Time Machine, an internet radio station. Paula's signature poetic piece was inspired by Maya Angelou. Unfortunately, she was not able to send it to her before she passed but it resonates in everything she writes...
Words...A Poets Posture
They flow so free inside of me - they rise like yeast in sweet rolls
A taste so sweet my soul does eat - to purge them as I speak
No paper no pen can quench the thirst to spew them from inside
And give them life that spins a tale of a journey no longer I hide
They sing a song that lingers - their rhythm has no rhyme
They are just words that tell a story
Of adventures in a lifetime
