Jill E Bauer was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and graduated from West Virginia University and Eastern Kentucky University. She won writing awards for Tales of Folly the Cat, Irmadetta Gunch, and The Power of the Lion. While teaching arts and humanities in a Kentucky high school she received the Michael Jordan Fundamentals Grant, and was featured in Kentucky Teacher for her production of Culturally Correct. She also received two Kentucky Artist in Residence grants for her writing workshops. Jill Bauer's literary accomplishments include The Ghost Cat in memory of her father, children's books for her grandchildren, skits and plays for her students, a regional newspaper column, and most recently, The Stone Horse of Carnac. She currently lives in Lexington, Kentucky.
