Christine Dupre

In the mid 1960s I was born and raised in Shoreview Minnesota.

I developed an interest in reading and writing by the time I was two, before I had the ability to read. I would take pictures and paste them onto paper and scribble underneath them. I remember my mama reading to me, and I would ask her over and over how pictures got into the books along with the words. she did her best explaining to me about authors and publishing at the young age I was. I recall asking about 116 times! I must have driven mama crazy.

Writing stories for me as a child was a way to escape into my own fantasyland. Once there, I could write about anything. Life moved along, and with it I submitted stories to teen magazines as I got older. The competition was fierce back in the late 70s, I gave up and figured it was not meant to be. My life took a lot of interesting turns as I grew older over the years. I was married in my twenties, and raised four children that are adults now. When my kids were young the library was the place for unlimited resources. Books, movies, story time. We took full advantage, and all of them fell in love with reading. Pokemon guide books were a passion in my family, and let me tell you those books were complicated!

When I moved further up north in later years I visited my local library and inquired about developing a story hour for little ones, as I had noticed on their calendar there wasn't any listed. I was hired on the spot, and that turned into a wonderful experience for me! I worked at a local animal shelter part time doing everything from cleaning kennels to dog walking too. I also was a volunteer as a reading tudor for 5th and 6th graders at the local middle school. Wow, I was busy!

Now I live part time near the Canadian border, sharing my life with two wonderful rescue pugs.

With my remaining time at a cabin I recently purchased with 80 acres.

Recently I was offered a job as a personal assistant to a very talented award winning editor, Rogena Mitchell Jones. One of the proudest moments in all my life! Yes, I took it, and I am in training now. Words are always changing, and editing is not something you learn overnight. I have many duties besides learning the process, all of which I enjoy tremendously.

I am a part time college student taking online courses through Harvard University

extension/EdX, along with one on one coaching lessons for writing with the talented author EJ Runyon.

I hope you enjoy my first story Lipstick and Pearls featured in "Be Their Voice" The Anthology For Rescue. A bellyfull of laughs delivered to you about these beloved animals. They for the most part live like humans, and go through the same struggles as we do in their little world. I am working on sequels right now. The second installment of "Lipstick and Pearls" will be available in the next anthology, due out by mid-December. In time I will be releasing several of my stories into one as a novella.

Look for me on Facebook, I would love to connect! Happy reading everyone...
