Linda Silance-Spaulding lives in the High Desert of Southern California with her husband John and they have raised a treasured blended family together. They share many grandchildren and have led country life with animals, gardening, writing, and art interests.
Linda has won online writing awards over the years both in fiction and non-fiction, and fairy stories and folklore are her favorite genre, admiring children's writers such as Eric Carlyle, Beatrix Potter, and Michael Bond (who once sent her a handwritten letter wishing her well with the story of Easterland). Through that love of the genre, she realizes the value of nature.
This is the 26th anniversary of this Easterland story and the first version in paperback form (2023) first in print since its first publication in 1996.
Linda re-wrote it and shortened the story for this publication (first time in e-book in 2022), and embraced the chance to use the cherished black and white illustrations of her late uncle John DelRosso, and for the first time in print to use the color cover illustration by award-winning artist Dave Letterfly Knoderer.
