Melrose Ayres

Melrose Ayres has always been writing something. While dealing with her fun, yet crazy life of being a hair stylist, floral designer, wedding planner(this still being one of her favorite hobbies), married, working at Walmart, and raising kids, she realized quickly that writing everyday about what happened and her feelings always seemed to help her to work out any problem looming or making her unhappy.

After writing many journals about the funny moments she experienced on trips with family and just simply life, she had many stories, poems, articles, and even some song lyrics that only she could read and hear.

Every now and then when Melrose would share something she wrote with family or friends, they would say,"Oh this is so funny", or "You need to do something with all of this writing." Melrose likes to say,"Life can throw you a curve ball now and then to try to throw you out of the game, but don't let that stop you from swingin'!" For many reasons in her mind there was not quite the self-confidence to try to get any of her work published. Now, this curve ball that put her life on hold for 36 years has turned into a home run!

When trying to remember the true story of her daughter's black bag that was the inspiration for her first book "What's In Your Bag?", Melrose stumbled across many of her journals. This sparked a fire inside her to chase her dreams of becoming an author. With the added push from her brother to get more information about a publishing company that he saw on TV, she took a swing and sent in a copy of her book to Page Publishing.

Melrose has many more stories to tell and hopes to encourage all of her readers to always do it with gusto and to never be afraid to swing for the fences.
