Having overcome shame, loneliness, and low self-esteem to the light of worthiness, confidence and empowered leader, Shakira’s story qualifies her to inspire others to self-love, healing, and peace. Shakira Taylor is a Licensed Minister serving at The Universal Truth Center for Better Living in Miami Gardens, Florida. Shakira believes our real work on earth is to discover and express our true selves so we can give others permission to do the same. She explains “I believe that within our habits, labels, and experiences, lay the gifts we must share with the world. When we heal and own our story, we gain access to an internal power and strength that supports us in living purposefully. My purpose is to encourage transformation and inspire divine connection within myself and others.
At the center Shakira also serves as the platform lead chair, mentoring youth, and adults in honing their public speaking skills. As a prayer chaplain for over 10 years, she listens and holds sacred space with up to forty members monthly. She also teaches the Sunday lesson when called upon.
In addition, Shakira is a Distinguished Toastmaster. During the pandemic, she served as District Director for District 47, a region spanning Southeast Florida and the Bahamas. An elected position that is responsible for directly overseeing and managing the District’s day-day operations, finance, and human resources. She led a team of fifty-five volunteers, completing her tenure as an award- winning District Director.
She is a Certified Shadow Coach, sought after conference speaker and mentor. She has worked in various business roles throughout her career. A graduate of Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in international business and marketing. She earned a master’s degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University.

for Better Living The Reverend Charles M. Taylor. They are co-founders of Charles & Shakira Unlimited, the catalyst for what they call the Healthy, Inspiring, Purposeful movement.
