James V. Spickard

James Spickard is Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the University of Redlands, where he taught courses on social theory, the sociology of religion, research design, and social inequality for 31 years. He has published widely on religion’s role in contemporary society, on non-Western social theories, on social research, and on human rights. His most recent book explores the insights and limitations of the six major stories that sociologists tell about religion’s role in the contemporary world.
