Taking place during the Protestant Reformation (1549-1560), the Marjory Trilogy is biographical fiction depicting the lives of John and Marjory Knox. It is a story of courage, faith, and love as they face adversity, told against a backdrop of political and religious strife in England, France, and Scotland. The era was dominated by conflicts between rich and poor, religious clashes, and the wars among the countries of Europe.

As Protestants, they flee England and Scotland for the safety of Geneva. But inevitably John is summoned to Scotland where they are part of the rebellion against the government and the Catholic church. Marjory begins as a young teenager who, as she matures, takes on marriage and family responsibilities while defining the new role of pastor's wife. This is a fictional account of their relationship. These books explore themes of hope, love, and faith.

The Purloined Dagger also takes place in the sixteenth century during the reign of Elizabeth I. It is a locked-room mystery with a hint of intrigue and romance.

She researched and wrote a non-fiction book of John Knox's theology based on his original works while he lived in England. There is also a book appropriate for small group study covering his main interests at that time.

She was awarded a Ph.D. in apologetics and theology by Trinity Theological Seminary. Shepherd was a licensed interior designer in the state of Texas, working primarily with commercial design clients. She has experience as a computer systems analyst and data analyst. She has a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) degree from the University of Houston in Texas, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in anthropology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

She is married, and she and her husband reside in the Gulf Coast area with her loving family: two step-daughters and four grandchildren. She enjoys reading, gardening, knitting, and crocheting.
