Shruthi is a cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer when she was 18. After the completion of her treatment which lasted for six months and major surgery, she pursued her studies in psychology. She penned down her journey of cancer in Kannada, ‘Baduka dikku badalisida osteosarcoma’ which has been released in 2013 by Gomini prakashana, Tumakuru. The book received ‘Matoshri Ratnamma Heggade Prashasti,’ ‘Advisor Sahitya prashasti’ and ‘Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award’. She translated this book into English and self-published in Amazon Kindle. The translation ‘Osteosarcoma that changed my life’ is still available in the kindle store. Later Paperback version of this book has been released by Gomini prakashana. She worked as a columnist in a Kannada webpage ‘Readoo’, where she has written cancer-related articles to create awareness. In 2018, all those articles have been compiled and brought out as a book called ‘Ichchashaktiyemba Rekkegaliveyalla.’ ‘Life can blossom again’ is her first novel.
