Casey Schreiner is an Emmy-nominated television writer and producer who began his outdoor writing career in 2006 by founding the web site Modern Hiker (www.modernhiker.com). The site is one of the most-read hiking blogs on the West Coast and is a source of in-depth trail info and outdoor journalism for the American West. He has written three books about the outdoors -- "Day Hiking Los Angeles," a comprehensive hiking guide for L.A. County and beyond; "Discovering Griffith Park," the first and only guidebook for one of the largest and wildest urban parks in the world; and "Cloud Spotting," a guide to using cloud observations to inspire a mindfulness practice in nature.
