Andy cycled 15'000 miles from London to Australia as part of The Cycle Diaries. That journey lasted 16 months and raised £36'000 for www.warchild.org.uk, a small international charity that supports child victims of war.
After returning to England Andy spent 3-years training to lead polar expeditions, which included lessons in how to defend yourself against polar bear attack. He's currently working towards the Mountain Training Associations Mountain Leaders award
Andy has also spoken at companies, schools and trade shows about his epic cycle adventure. He's performed at The Telegraph Travel Show, Innocent Drinks and Just Giving. He was also a Skype in the classroom guest speaker and relished the opportunity to inspire young people from all over the globe to take up a challenge of their own.
The Push; Overcoming Obstacles to Adventure is Andy's first book and he is also a contributing author of The Big Book of Yes. A collection of stories from 17 adventurers for the Teddington Trust guaranteed to make you say 'Yes!' to life.
