Marc Reid

Marc is an experienced workplace mediator, providing mediation services and conflict competence training through his company Mediation4 (www.mediation4.co.uk). Prior to setting up Mediation4 Marc worked for nearly 25 years in senior HR, commercial and general management roles for a FTSE 10 multinational company. He set up and ran the company’s internal mediation service, having been trained and accredited by CEDR. Whilst managing the service Marc recognised the power of workplace mediation, prompting his decision to leave the corporate world and set up Mediation4 in 2011.

He’s a passionate advocate of workplace mediation and regularly promotes its use to HR professionals. Feedback highlighted the need to improve HR and line manager skills in identifying and managing conflict. So using his experience as a manager and mediator he developed DIY Mediation (www.diymediation.com) to provide HR with a structured, practical approach that enables them to resolve low-level conflict. It is not about training them to be a professional mediator, but rather helping them understand the skills needed, and providing a practical process, the AGREE model, to follow.

Marc is also a Trustee and mediator with Resolve, the local community mediation charity, helping resolve a wide range of neighbour disputes.
