Cyril Rutters

Cyril Lionel Rutters was born in March 1952 in Mount Frere, a small town in the Transkei, South Africa. The eldest of five children, he grew up in the Transkei and Natal and went to the University of Natal in Durban to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

While studying at the University he met two engineering students who challenged him on his Christian beliefs and resulted in his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour on 17th December 1973. Thereafter, he has been an avid reader of the Bible, taught on many aspects of our spiritual journey and been a worship leader for a short time.

He and Charmaine Wendy Dell were married on 13 September, 1980 and their only son, Nolan was born on 3 January 1988. Ever since setting the goal of “getting to know God better” he has been learning God’s ways and seeking to teach his family and friends by word and example. He has a passion for spreading the Gospel of Jesus so that whosoever wants to get to know God personally will know how to!
