Tim Summers

Tim Summers is Lecturer in Music at Royal Holloway, University of London. He has also taught music at Oxford and Bristol Universities, as well as University College Dublin. He is a co-founder of the Ludomusicology Research Group on video game music. He is currently an editor of the Journal of Sound and Music in Games.

Most of Tim's research is about music in popular culture, including film, television and comics, though he is particularly interested in video game music.

Tim has written for journals including the Journal of the Royal Musical Association, the Journal of Film Music, and Music, Sound, and the Moving Image. He has co-edited both a collection of essays on video game music, 'Ludomusicology: Approaches to Video Game Music', and a special issue of The Soundtrack on game audio. He also contributes to essay collections, like 'Music in Video Games: Studying Play', 'FilmMusik - Ennio Morricone' and 'The Routledge Companion to Screen Music and Sound'.
