About the Author/Editor
Deborah J. Skinner is the daughter of George Tolmie Skinner and the dedicated curator of his personal and scientific archives. What began as a private project to transcribe her father's 1943 RAF journals as a gift for her grandson—a current U.S. Navy sailor—soon evolved into a mission to preserve a rare piece of 20th-century history.
With a background in writing and a deep respect for her father’s dual legacy as both a combat-trained pilot and a pioneer of hypersonic aerodynamics, Deborah has meticulously preserved George’s original voice. Her work ensures that the journey from the Scottish Lowlands to the Texas flight lines, and ultimately to the frontiers of space science, remains an accessible roadmap of service and discovery for generations to come.
She is officially announcing the publication of her father’s memoir on May 9th, 2026: George Tolmie Skinner ~ Memoir – From RAF Wings to Wind Tunnels: A Fighter Pilot’s Journey into Aeronautical Innovation and 1943 RAF journal: Then We Kissed Her Goodbye-Dad’s RAF Journal 1943.

Skinner is an artist, songwriter, and storyteller living in a small cottage in the woods of New Hampshire’s lakes region. A retired art teacher, she still carries the imaginative spirit of the classroom with her, where curiosity, creativity, and a little bit of magic were always welcome.
She is the author of Queen Sllabruos: The Mirror World, a middle-grade fantasy born from a Christmas Eve story told in the car with her children. This hidden realm was one that refused to be forgotten and instead grew into a world of adventure that takes the reader into the depths of a mirror world where everything is backwards and age becomes timeless.
Debbee’s imagination was shaped early—exploring castle ruins in Scotland, listening to legends of mysterious creatures, and spending summers on a remote Canadian island without electricity, where stories filled the silence and the night sky felt endless. Those experiences continue to echo through her writing.
When she’s not creating stories, she can be found painting, writing music, or wandering trails and lake shores, always on the lookout for the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary.
She loves hearing from readers and warmly welcomes fan art and messages through her website.
