Lori Martinek

Lori's effective writing skills and multi-faceted marketing and management experience has made her a sought-after strategist, mentor and consultant. A successful serial entrepreneur and author who owns an award-winning marketing and PR firm, Lori is also a mentor and advisor to new and growing businesses. She is a subject matter expert in branding and digital outreach and a thought leader on diversity, leadership and purposeful retirement.

Her greatest passion is helping new and aspiring entrepreneurs work through the challenges of startup and growth. Lori is the founder of MindingHerBiz, a pro bono project which helps female entrepreneurs confront the challenges of startup and growth. She also works with entrepreneurs who are launching new ventures later in life (www.encoreready.com).

Lori holds a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University’s prestigious Medill School of Journalism and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She has more than two decades of SBA program experience (SCORE and SBDC) in six states and is a national media spokesperson for SCORE. She has appeared in CNN Money, NerdWallet, Inc., Forbes and on PBS.

Lori’s other publishing credits include articles on management and marketing, credits in high visibility sites and blogs, business and trade publications and bylines in major metro newspapers. Be the Bulb! was her debut book in 2009, followed by Retiring Solo in August 2016. Lori's third book is in development.
