Mike Travis Ph.D.

Doctor Mike Travis now lives on the Moku o Keawe ("The Big Island") of Hawaiʻi. He is still a high school math teacher, but tries to live a quieter life with his chickens. He continued his schooling and now possesses a Master's and Ph.D. in Educational Technology from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He lives with his wife of 33 wonderful years, and his two daughters are grown now. For years, Mike has wanted to share the story of his military experience and about his friend who was killed in Operation Desert Storm; this is why he published his first book, "Faded Jeans to Army Greens." Then, catching the "writer's bug," Mike produced a set of sci-fi novels about Cooper, a young boy living in 2200 underground on Earth. The series is entitled, "Cooper's Destiny." From there, he branched out to some other kids' books.
