Duncan Gill

My name is Duncan Gill. I was born in Hemel Hempstead, England, on July 16th, 1987. I grew up on the Welsh coastline of Pembrokeshire while studying Graphic Design in College. I furthered my education at Glamorgan and Cardiff University by enrolling in a Graphic Communication course, which ended poorly in 2009 due to hospitalization. Later, after a string of low paying jobs, I travelled the majority of Western and Eastern Europe, living out of a backpack and sleeping rough. It wasn’t long after coming home where I moved to Australia for a year and travelled Thailand, before finally ‘settling’ in Oxfordshire, at least for the time being.

Ever since the age of sixteen, I've been writing and creating a fantasy series called, The Ancestral Odyssey. For all the jobs I’ve slugged through, for all the places I’ve travelled to and the things I’ve seen, this series is my heart, I’ve carried it with me for the longest time and as I’ve grown, it too has evolved and matured. My unbreakable goal in life is to complete the series of five Episodes, documenting the path as I go through a blog. Readers of the series should prepare for a journey; they should get ready for something fresh, emotional, rich, and exciting, for beneath the surface of charismatic characters, wild vistas and colourful scenes, is a story I believe we can all learn and benefit from.

Episode One, albeit the foundation of this story, merely scratches the surfaces of what is to come, painting a picture of a fictional, fantastical world called Equis. I am excited however, to deliver a narrative that will (hopefully) transform your perception of what epic fantasy is and what it is truly capable of - By pushing boundaries, exploring problems, tackling controversial plot points, and delving into the mystery of mythology, inspires something new, something I believe readers have never read before. I’ve a long way to go and much to learn, but if you’ll indulge me, I’d like to tell you a story.
