Brenda Renou is a Certified Nonprofit Professional, non-fiction writer, and editor. She created several public documents for the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (ADDPC) that are being distributed by the Council as well as other state agencies and by various education professionals in Arizona. She also contributed to the ADDPC's blog post on service dogs that can be located at the following link: https://addpc.az.gov/content/update-service-animals. This blog post is being used by local university professors to demonstrate to students that not all disabilities are visible and that there are many different types of service dogs that do amazing things for their handlers. Brenda has worked with many nonprofit organizations that serve the disability community. She is a former Chair, Vice-Chair and Commissioner for the City of Surprise Disability Advisory Commission. She was a service dog trainer for several years and is a service dog user herself. Her current service dog, Oren, was featured in the ADDPC blog and faithfully remains by her side bringing smiles to people's faces when they see him wearing his shoes in the hot Arizona weather.
