David McCaddon

David McCaddon is an author, an award winning playwright and a guest speaker. He was born in Mold in North Wales and grew up in the nearby town of Buckley.

After leaving Elfed Secondary Modern school he joined the local steelworks and it was here he entered the world of computing initially as a computer operator on ICL mainframes. He joined ICL in the mid 70s working at Kidsgrove as a software technician on the development of VME/B.

In 1983 he worked with West Yorkshire Police developing the first commercially available Police Major Incident System known as MICA later working on the development of the UK HOLMES system. His experience has seen him working across the world with a number of police forces. After 34 years working with Police and other law enforcement agencies David now devotes his time to writing crime thrillers. His book "Following Digital Footprints" was the first in a trilogy and was published in 2016. "In Digital Pursuit" followed a year later and "The Final Footprint" was published in 2018.

His latest crime thriller "A Question of Time" which is set in 1967 in North Wales and Cheshire was published on 31st March 2021
