I was raised in landlocked Ohio! Luckily, I met Ann, my lovely wife, and she introduced me to sailing. We bought our first boat in 1985 and moored it on the Hudson River in New York, our present home at the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club. We bareboat chartered from Maine to Key West and in the Caribbean 16 times before buying Fleetwing, 38 ft Ericson sailboat in 1993 which was followed by a 42 foot Beneteau 423 sailboat in 2003. After retiring from IBM after 38 years, Ann and I started cruising round trips on the ICW from New York to Key West in 2009. The “2024 ICW Cruising Guide” is the 10th edition on avoiding problems and having fun on the ICW.
