Christopher Lloyd
Christopher Lloyd is a writer, podcaster and academic. He is the author of three monographs: Rooting Memory, Rooting Place: Regionalism in the Twenty-First-Century American South (2015), Corporeal Legacies in the US South: Memory and Embodiment in Contemporary Culture (2018), and A Queer Bestiary: Non/Humans in Contemporary US Literature (2026). Chris has also co-edited two books: The Affects of Pedagogy in Literary Studies (2023) with Hilary Emmett and The Edinburgh Companion to the Millennial Novel (2025) with Loïc Bourdeau.
Chris has also published the poetry pamphlets/chapbooks: Put My Heart Down (2021), Pick Up Your Feelings (2024) and The Deck Speaks Better (2027).
Chris is the host of the Books Up Close YouTube channel and podcast, where he has interviewed authors such as Torrey Peters, Garth Greenwell, Sara Ahmed, Seán Hewitt, Elaine Castillo and many others.
He teaches at the University of Hertfordshire.
