Steven P. Wise

Dr. Steven P. Wise was born in Washington, D.C. in 1953. After studying at Dartmouth College (A.B., 1975) and Washington University in St. Louis (Ph.D., 1977) he spent 30 years doing neurophysiological research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He retired in early 2009 and has been a scholar-in-residence at the Olschefskie Institute for the Neurobiology of Knowledge in Bethesda, Maryland since that time. His books explore the fields of neurobiology and behavior, especially at the intersection of memory and evolution.
