Afsah Idrees Akhtar

Afsah Idrees Akhtar is an art teacher and author of the book "Camel Hair Tattoo Art of Pakistan: Analysis of its Symbols and Motifs" that introduced the unique and unknown art to the world.

She born was in Lahore in 1974 and received a Bachelor's degree in Painting from National College of Arts, Lahore in 1998. She taught Fine Arts at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan during 2007-2008 and joined the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan in 2008 as a Lecturer of Fine Arts. She participated in various national and international art exhibitions and presented at different conferences. She received her Master's of Philosophy degree in Art History from the University of the Punjab, Lahore in 2015.
