David Bird

David Bird: Was born in 1954 in the heart of Norfolk (United Kingdom) and has led a very interesting life. In his childhood years he found life quite difficult to cope with having been born with a rare medical condition that affected the right side of his face.

Sometimes ridiculed because of his looks, he became very introverted until he was introduced to a charity called "Changing Faces". This totally changed his attitude to life and by learning to cope with his disfigurement he became an ambassador to the plight of people who suffered with similar conditions.

David is a well known local celebrity and has championed the work of Changing Faces. His recent book "My Positive Face Of Disfigurement: A True Story inspires others to walk tall in a society where looking different is frowned upon. His story will give hope to others who are struggling in their everyday life.

David is currently preparing new books that will be totally different from his first authorship. These books will be aimed at people who are researching their family history in the county of Norfolk and will be providing lists of gravestone inscriptions from various parts of the county in the hope that it will assist them in their search for their family ancestors.
