When not writing for children of all ages, photographing birds/wildlife or hosting tea parties for her grandkids, Betsy Devany works part-time at a toy store, where she loves to hand-sell children's books, dollies, stuffies, and toys that inspire imagination. In her past life, Betsy designed appliquéd children's clothes, studied theatre, and was a dancer/singer, all of which continues to inspire her stories today.
Betsy lives near Mystic, CT with her family that includes a rescue cat, Terrapin; a rescue dog, Buddy; a resident groundhog, Wombat; and a very-loved, life-sized gorilla named Norman.
Her debut picture book, LUCY'S LOVEY, published with Henry Holt & Co/Christy Ottaviano Books on September 27, 2016.
