Syed Mikail Ali was born on 4th January,1986 at GopalPur, Birbhum, West Bengal, in a lower middle class Muslim family. As family financial situation was not good, he completed BA Honours in English Literature from Krishna Chandra College under The University of Burdwan with a lot of difficulties. During his high school and college studies he had to work as a tuition teacher to feed his family and to maintain his own study cost. Situation became worst after his grandmother, Rokeya Bibi's death. She used to get a little pension and that was the family's assured income hardly enough for daily two meals. So he was bound to stop his studies to start an odd job. A rich man named Kazi Johir Alam from Dubrajpur supported him by providing financial help to complete his graduation. His childhood was not normal like other child. His mother was a prey of domestic violence in her in-law's house. She came back to her maternal home. So he was brought up in maternal grandmother's house. He had bitter experience of poverty from childhood. He had experienced different family problems and violence. After competing graduation in 2006, he was madly searching for a job. Although he was earning little money by offering tuition but the income was uncertain. Many poor students were taught by him who hardly were able to pay any fees. He started working as a teacher. He worked in different schools. In his 10 years teaching career he worked in different states in India. He closely observed different social issues in different states as he lived in multiple society of different social and cultural background. Being a teacher he was in touch with parents of different social, cultural and religious background. He has widely visited different states in India. Now he is teaching and staying in Maldives.
