David R. Downing

David R. Downing lives a dual life; mild-mannered informatics consultant by day, fanatical writer at night. You may come across David frantically writing in some lonely hotel lobby, airport waiting area, or cramped airplane seat. David travels frequently for his day job, and it is often while he is on the road that his better efforts come to life.

David has had several short stories see the light of day with publications in "The Sword Review", "Forgotten Worlds", "New Realm" and "Under the Bed" magazines. His first novel, featuring Kalat from a series of fantasy short stories, is represented by Trident Media Group of NYC. David received an honorable mention for his story "Romanus Belli" from the prestigious "Writers of the Future" contest in 2016. His story "Afriti" appears in Flame Tree’s 2018 "Agents and Spies" collection, and "Black Widow" is in Rouge Blades Entertainment’s 2019 "Crossbones and Crosses" collection.
