Donna Mulvenna

Donna Mulvenna (pen name: Donna Venna) is a horticulturist and writer who lives between a beach shack and a sailing boat off the southeast coast of Queensland, Australia. After leaving behind decades of corporate writing, she moved to the Amazon Rainforest for four transformative years. The experience reshaped her life and led her to a career in wildlife conservation and a commitment to living as simply and sustainably as possible—her personal code for a good life.

In her latest book, Surviving Nature, Donna invites readers into the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, revealing not only its astonishing beauty but also the profound and healing influence nature can have on all of us. Through her words, she hopes to inspire others to rediscover their own connection with the natural world.

“Happiness does find us,” she says. “We just have to slow down and lighten our load a little. Only then can we discover the wonder and awe in our world, and in the process gain a true sense of who we are, why we are here, and where we are heading.”
