I was introduced to Championship Manager in 1992 and, by any sensible measure, never recovered. I've gone to bed hunting for a striker, held imaginary press conferences about defeats, and been asked by my wife how anyone can spend so many hours watching words on a screen. Johnny Cooper is my answer. His Mansfield Town diary first came out in 2014; in 2026 I revised and expanded it. Mansfield, for some reason, will always have a place in my heart.
