Opaline Marks is the pen name of Opal Aline Markiewicz, a writer interested in exploring the interaction between family values and the outer world of crime and intrigue within her characters. Born in Missouri, she grew up in California, and then lived much of her life in the Wisconsin and Illinois area before moving to Las Vegas in the 1990s.
While Opal had a strong interest in writing for many years, it wasn’t until the early 2000s that she found the time to develop her craft. During that time, she wrote a variety of novels and shorter stories. Her interests ranged from detective stories (Paint the Devil) to adventure (Morrison Brothers) to exploring a deeper understanding of mental illness (Schizophrenics I Have Known).
Opal was the wife of George Markiewicz, a painter whose work may be seen on Paintings I Love and other artist websites.
