Betsy Hall

Betsy Hall was born in 1958 in Evanston, Illinois. Along with her four older brothers, she was raised one block from Lake Michigan. Listening to and gazing upon the vast lake throughout her childhood set the foundation for her love of water and natural reverie. College took her west, to the base of the Rocky Mountains where she still resides today with her husband. Betsy began her academic life at the University of Colorado where she studied Religious Studies, then continued with a Masters in Clinical Social Work at Denver University. 10 years later, following a life altering car accident, Betsy returned to school at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpentaria, California where she earned a Doctorate in Mythological Studies with emphasis in Depth Psychology. Aside from practicing as a Depth Psychotherapist for 31 years, Betsy is a member of the faculty at Regis University in the Division of Counseling and Family Therapy, where she specializes in training graduate and post-graduate students in the theory and practice of Depth Psychotherapy. Aside from completing her first book, Psychotherapy's Pilgrim Poet, Betsy has lectured extensively on the use of mythology and heroic stories in treating adolescents and adults.

When not working, she is most likely found on the hiking trails in Boulder, Colorado, camping with her husband in Southern Utah, taking in sunsets at an old family lakefront property in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, traveling abroad, or deep in soulful conversation with friends and family.
