They say you can't be an author or a good writer unless you have something to say. Well, when you combine my 74 years of travel, broadcasting, writing, business, golf, and interest in everything from woodworking to why things go bump in the night, with a vivid imagination, and it adds up to a lot to say and tell people about. So here I am.
I hear you, "But, but, you're old, you're ten years past retirement age." So I am, but when I was 60 I wrote "Live Longer, Be Happy, Don't Retire" and I meant every word of it. I was also writing "The Last Cowboy" about that time. I ended up writing six screenplays, six books and a lot of ad copy, thousands of magazine and newspaper stories and columns, plus dozens of training and corporate videos -- I also produced the videos.
My first Kindle release, The Last Cowboy: The Cane Springs Incident", is a print edition of my second screen play. It got me noticed over in the Jungle called Hollywood. We optioned it three times, but never got a green light. Burt Reynolds signed on, but by 2001 Burt was way down from "A" list and we couldn't get anyone on board.
I just released my first golf short stories book, called, cleverly, "Golf Shorts".
The whole golf thing started when I was 22 and moved to Arizona to manage (seriously?) a radio station in Prescott. I hit my first golf ball at Antelope Hills in 1963 and it was love at first drive. I stayed connected to the game and worked my way to Regionals Editor for GOLF Magazine. My job there ? To travel all over the U.S. and the world, play golf, and write about it. Well, somebody had to do it. Playing in 14 countries and 23 states and meeting about a million golfers of all abilities, shapes, sizes, personalities and ethnic backgrounds gave me plenty to say. Some of the fun stuff really didn't generate much interest in those days. But it become relevant in setting the background for, my new tome.
I live in Mlontrose Colorado now, on the 13th tee of the The Bridges Golf Club. I still play twice a week. I still operate my little production enterprise, Burro Creek Pictures, which is a video production company that provides services to a select group of corporate clients.

And I am working on Book 2 of Golf Shorts.
